This is the winning video made by Ann Xiao for the the track 'Murder The Lonely' by An Orange End.
"The concept is great - a young boy's loneliness and isolation transports him to a mythical alternate realm of ice caves and giant penguins where he roams from cavern to cavern until finally breaking through into the light at the end. It is strong enough to merit development into a short film where Ann's unique, perplexing and haunting style of animation would really have room to breath."

Radar ran a competition in association with Coke Music to pitch for and then make a promo for the premier bands on the Coke Music site. Ann Xiao's video won the An Orange End pitch with her original and attractive images. The finished promo is a beautiful and haunting animation and live action promo.

Very interesting mixture of animation styles, would love to see what you can do with a larger budget. There are some very great transitions used in conjunction with the performance elements. Too bad the song is so long, but thats not your fault, you did a good job pacing it.

This is a personal favourite of mine. It's a great video, wonderful use of animation and colour that imbues the video with a melancholy elegance that integrates and at times transcends the music. Fantastic work.
Hey Ann!
In 'Murder the lonely', the smooth gliding camera through this beautiful icy world is a caress for the eyes.
I love how you integrate the band in the underwater scene, (1:51 - 1:57).
It is so fluid!
Again, in the frozen cave, (3:22 - 3:30), these guys blend with the animation seamlessly. The lighting and layering is awesome!
How did you get these musicians to move like that?
Congratulations!
