CHAINSAW was born in the Fall of '91. A collaboration between Wolfgang Reffert(DARK STAR), Roger Warmuth(JOE GIZMO & THE SPUDMONSTERS/BASKET CASE), Bob Reis(THE GUNNS/BASKET CASE/G.B.S./GARTEN KIRKHOF) and Glenn D. Hudson(CIVIL DISOBEDIANCE/G.B.S./SCARETACTIC) produced 'Curse'. Track number 6 on DARK STAR's debut cd, "Headtrip".

Approximately a year and a half of, "...the tapes rolling." scenario's, when bounced down to digital brought CHAINSAW 3 full cd's of random jams and noises. CHAINSAW took those cd's, gave them a listen and in the end pulled from them the loops and noises that would come to be the body of CHAINSAW's second track, 'Oil'.
'Oil' has various noises generated by all members, a kick & hat from Warmuth's Yamaha drum machine, a bass loop by Warmuth, a mellow 2 chord guitar progression by Poultney, guitar feedback and the only lyrics in the song, "You know what you want." by Reis.
