The video was a real blend of sources. A thousand Island dressing of animation if you will. ;) (hmm - although that would suggest only two styles.. but I can't think of another, more blendy sauce, so I'll leave it).
The most important thing, the man, was a shadow puppet that I designed, my girlfriend built and beat into a proper working state, then by the light of night (and a very bright angle poise lamp) we pupeteered it against glass and cloth, which I then dropped into after effects.
The other moving people was the band shot against white in high contrast, and again dropped in AE, and the rest of the other elements (both hand drawn and drawn directly to machine) were animated into after effects.
I did the whole thing at 1080p for some crazy reason... Never again, my PC was SOOO hard to work with!!
