Isis is my favorite band, and I think this video is just brilliant. I admire your use of traditional techniques. The end of the video is disturbing and mind-blowing.

im inclined to like it because it's a very nice track
and i sort of like the concept behind it
but it looks too analogue for my taste to really dig it weren't it for the music

'When Collie Bud come around,/ A pure ganja man tune,/ Just a lick from the sound,
yeah,/ Finally the herbs come around'

Cheers Matei, I work very hard to capture that mushy analogue look you don't like. I'm sorry it spoiled your enjoyment of the song. Thanks for the criticism.

im the complete opposite of matei - i really dont dig this kinda music, but the video just looks so stunning that it makes it work. the whole look and feel of the visuals are sumptuous. the character falling at the beginning just looked fantastic. im really impressed with your work.

That's about the best compliment I could receive, since my job was effectively to help sell the music. Thank you very much.

This is an EPIC video, very cinematic! I'm not into the song but had to watch the video all the way through. Really intriguing visuals and storyline. Would love to know how you got the 'melting face' at the end (but totally understand if you want to keep the trick to yourself).

The feotus imagery was great too, even through the Vimeo screener it looked sharp, how did you produce that sequence?

Tassletine's picture

Thanks for the compliments Hackett.
The melting face is a combination of a puppet and an actor, filmed in slow motion.
The fetus is also a puppet. It's translucent silicone and it was filmed in a fish tank.

man why aren't you posting the vid you did for mogwai?
its so filthy (the dead feral cat at the beginning and those lil suckling fuckers) and visceral it leaves a mark

Hi Matei, The reason I'm not posting the Mogwai is hate the video. I was screwed so badly on the job it makes me violent even thinking about it.

This is all shades of awesome.

how the fuck did you do the face stuff????

Kudos man, this ace... and I love the analogue look.

Tassletine's picture

Melting face was done via a combination of actor and a rubber head.
