This is a surreal music video for Cork artist and songwriter Valerie Hely. The song is called "Dreams" and the video reflects the choice many creative people face - whether one follow one's dreams or to take the easier path.
I closely followed the lyrics and theme of the song when coming up with a 'plot' for this video.The video consists of three 'acts':
Act 1: The dream. The artist is drifting. A character follows her with her guitar, but she never sees it.
Act 2: A faceless money man tempts her with pearls.
Act 3: She goes on to embrace her art after she refuses the pearls, and ends up happier for it.
