The Rainbow Hunters is a chase between a man and a woman. As they rhythmically chase through a forest they cascade light all around them.
The film is really born out of a technique I had been experimenting with for a while. It is essentially pixilation mixed with timed exposure. The technique really helped in creating the slightly surreal fantasy world created in Rainbow Hunters.
The whole film is shot on a Nikon D80 digital SLR.

I love the cinematography on the opening sequence. The whole piece is really gorgeous. Especially like how the colors and flow of the costumes work with the stop motion effect. I appreciate you posting some of your techniques too. Yet another piece that proves VFX is king is this day & age.
Beautiful
I was kinda over stop-motion, but this beautiful use of the technique has allowed me to open up my heart one more time. The tracking on this video is amazing and I'm sure was a lot of hard work moving through that forest location. Lovely colors and beautiful movement make for a job well done.

Hi there,
I just wanted to ask how you embed the vimeo stuff in this site.
Because I cannot get it to work at all here?
Peter
glad you liked my film.
yeah well actually using tracks, which was a bit of a nightmare in a forest! took a frame then moved it about an inch each increment.
thanks for the comment

One of the better "still capture" videos that there has been so many of as of late. The process is accomplished quite well and it definitely lives symbiotically with the track, which is great.

Awesome...really liked the effect. Love time-lapse sequences anyway but this really impressed me. As cool as it is, don't overuse this technique though. Nice one!!!
Wow that looks great, beautiful colors.
