Sarah Weinstein’s video and film career has taken her from the Scottish highlands, to the Grand Canyon, to 20,000 feet up in an F-16 fighter jet. An identical twin who grew up in Champaign, Illinois, Sarah found her calling in journalism as an undergraduate at Illinois Wesleyan University. She worked at Dateline NBC in Washington, produced a radio talk show in Champaign and wrote an advice column for her college newspaper. After a short stint rushing scripts to Peter Jennings at the 1996 Democratic National Convention, and associate producing a PBS swing dancing docudrama, she packed up her green Chevy Malibu, headed to Columbia University in New York and settled in Harlem next door to Sigmund Freud's elderly cousin. In graduate school, Sarah interviewed Holocaust survivors, cult members and New York politicians. Armed with a Master’s degree in 1997, she moved to Los Angeles and started work at Silver Pictures and Wendy Finerman Productions. Sarah was also a production assistant on the third season of the WB's "7th Heaven." In 1999, Sarah returned to journalism at CNN in Atlanta where she became one of the only women in the company to shoot, produce and edit stories from coast to coast. At Headline News, she was one of the first writers to report Saddam Hussein’s capture. Sarah also co-developed a show on CNN International, and filled in as a news anchor on CNN's Turner South Network. In 2004, Sarah started work in Hollywood on her first feature-length documentary about the hit pop songwriting/production team The Matrix. Sarah regularly produces short films for the Discovery Channel and has produced, directed and edited music videos, EPKs, short films and commercials for clients including Anjunabeats, Capitol/Virgin Records, Columbia Records, Korn, Chiat-Day, Let’s Hear It Records,TurnHere.com, Disney.com, Intercontinental Hotels, the City of Los Angeles, Cuatro TV (Spain) and PBS, among others. She is a trained Emergency Medical Technician and an amateur juggler. When she’s not in the field, Sarah enjoys singing with the Angeles Chorale, theater, jogging and traveling the world.
