::SET UP LOVELY PRODUCTIONS 2004>
I moved back to Ireland from London in August 04 to set up Lovely Productions with Steven Courtney from Piranha Bar, a successful Dublin based postproduction studio, and Brunella Cocchiglia a production manager and graphic designer that I had studied with. We set up to develop television pitches for RTE, TV3, Channel 4, BBC 1,2&3 and Channel 5, to produce short films, commercials and animation and to create content for mobile devices in advance of their launch in 2005.
::COMMISSIONED TO PRODUCE ‘WONDERSCREEN’ FOR TV3>
I won pitch to produce a 13 part series for TV3 entitled ‘Wonderscreen’. Wonderscreen featured a
Hand picked selection of some of the best short films and animation in the world. I temed up with animators ‘D.A.D.D.Y’ to develop tight branding of the series with cutting edge graphics and animated intro title sequence, and stings. Wonderscreen aired over 13 weeks from April 16th 2005.
::COMMISSIONED TO DIRECT ‘CHANGES’ FOR IRISH FILMBOARD>
I successfully pitched and received a commission to write and direct a 3 minute film for the Irish Film Board entitled ‘Changes’. Changes has gone onto win Best Film at the Nokia/Darklight film festival in Ireland, Best Animation at Nickel Film Festival in Canada, Best Short Video at Festival International Benicassim in Spain and selected for competition at the prestigious Oberhausen Film Festival in Germany and the 50th London Film Festival.
::COMMISSIONED TO WRITE AND DIRECT SHORT FOR MTV NETWORKS EUROPE 2005>
I successfully pitched and won a commission to write and direct a1 minute film for MTV in connection with Motorola entitled ‘Tru Lav’. The film was designed tobe viewed on TV, cinema and mobiles. It is now available to download to your mobile phone from MTV’s content portal MTV LOAD.
::INKED DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH WILDLIGHT CHANNEL 2006>
I negotiated and signed a deal with the Wildlight Channel to have 3 minute versions of The Lovely Show distributed to mobile devices and TV worldwide. Three episodes of The Lovely Show are now available to download from Vodafone Live.
::WINNER OF ‘PSP AMAZE ME’ COMPETITION 2006>
I wrote and directed a short film entitled entitled ‘Sonny’ as an entry to the PSP Amaze me competition. The film went on to be screened on Nick Knight’s SHOW STUDIOS and won first prize.
::INVITED TO CREATE ARTWORK FOR CANDY MAGAZINE / HABITAT IRELAND EXHIBITION 50X50 2006>
I was one of 50 ‘leading creatives’ in Ireland invited to create a piece of artwork for an exhibition in run by design magazine Candy in association with Habitat Ireland. My limited edition piece (50 prints), entitled ‘Number 5’ is now available to buy in Habitat as part of the 50x50 collection.
::COMMISSIONED TO CREATE PROMOTIONAL FILM FOR ‘SWEET TALK 6’ 2006>
I was invited to create a poster and short film to premiere at ‘Sweet Talk 6’ a monthly creative conference in Dublin. My film ‘Sweet Talk’ features over 1000 animated sweets, it is available to view from our website.
::COMMISSIONED TO DIRECT ‘DEFACED’ FOR IRISH FILMBOARD 2006>
I successfully pitched and received a commission to write and direct a 3 minute film for the Irish Film Board entitled ‘Defaced’. ‘Defaced’ is currently being distributed and starting the festival circuit.
::INVITED TO GUEST LECTURE AT IADT>
I was asked to be a visiting lecturer and to teach motion graphics and After Effects to design student at IADT.
::INVITED TO CREATE ARTWORK FOR ‘BACK 2 THE OLD SCHOOL’ 188 PAGE DESIGN BOOK 2006>
I was one of 20 ‘leading Irish creatives’ invited to create a piece of artwork for a design book which will be distributed world wide with proceeds going to Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
::COMMISSIONED TO CREATE SHORT FILM ABOUT ‘CURIOSITY’ FOR SONY PLAYSTATION 2006>
I was asked to write and direct a motion based piece, based on the word ‘curiosity’ for Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). The film was premiered at PSP&ME, a promo night in film base and is available to download to your PSP via www.pspandme.ie It is also being distributed through third party distribution deals worldwide.
::ASKED TO DIRECT AN ANIMATED FILM ON CLIMATE CHANGE WITH INITIAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDING FROM THE ARTS COUNCIL OF IRELAND 2007>
Producer Brunella Cocchiglia has commissioned me to create a series of storyboards as the first part of a project to create a short film about the effects of Climate Change. The film begins art the begging of time and will explain in the reasons for climate change concerns today.
::COMMISSIONED TO DIRECT MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘SICKBOY’>
Commissioned to make music video for ‘Silence in Conversation’ by ‘Sickboy’. The video will use over 1000 photocopies of the lead singers face, reanimated using stopmotion and tracked to live action footage using 3D modelling and tracking software. The video will be released along with the single in August 2007.
::ASKED TO CREDTE ORIGIAL ARTWORK FOR iDN HONG KONG>
After being featured several times, iDN Magazine (International Design Network) in Hong Kong have asked my to create several pages of original artwork for their 15th year celebratory book which will be published later this year.
::SALE OF SWEET TALK TO TOTALLY VIRAL TV>
After more than half a million hits on YouTube(in less that 2 months!) Totally Viral, a TV series airing on UK2, have licensed my short film Sweet Talk – a 26 second animation which only took a few hours to make!
::SALE OF CURIOSITY, SWEET TALK, CHANGES, DEFACED AND SONNY TO MOBILE & TV>
My short films have been snapped up by 7 different distributors (non exclusive world rights) in Ireland, USA, Canada and Australia and will be broadcast both on TV and mobile devices over the coming months.
::APPROACHED BY CURRENT TV, AL GORE’S TV STATION, TO PRODUCE CONTENT>
After the acquisition on ‘Changes’ and ‘Defaced’ by Current TV, I was approached by producers in Current TV UK to create both animated and live action, non-fiction, content for broadcast. These projects are currently in development.

I was asked by Richard Seabrook, editor of Candy Magazine, to show my and speak to an audience as part of Sweet Talk at Electric Picnic on the 30th of August.

I was approached by creative agency Publicis QMP and asked to animate a number of sequences for Failte Ireland’s new campaign aimed at transition year to leaving cert students.
::COMMISSIONED TO DIRECT MUSIC VIDEO FOR ORBA SQUARA
New York based band ,Orba squara, recently approached me through MySpace and asked me to write and direct a short ‘music film’ for their single ‘Gravel’. Their music is currently featured on the iPhone and Orange commercials. ‘Gravel’ will feature an exciting mix of 3D animation and live action.
::COMMISSIONED TO DIRECT 4 COMMERCIALS FOR 11890 DIRECTORY ENQUIRIES
Leading creative advertising agency DDFH+B have asked me to create 4 TV commercials mixing live action "finger" people and animation together to create a unique look and feel for the new 11890 campaign. These are currently running on TV.
::COMMISSIONED TO DIRECT MUSIC VIDEO FOR SICKBOY
Using micro cameras I'm directing a new, all live action, video for Dublin band SickBoy. The cameras are no bigger than a fingernail and were placed on the bands instruments for an intimate but energetic and low cost video. It is being cut at the moment.

Dublin based band SickBoy have asked me to make them a video for their next single ‘Silence in Conversation’. The video will feature over 1000 photocopies animated using stop motion techniques. Complicated but fun!
