Paul Flack made our logos and the nice looking bits

iContact - they send our newsletters
We use an Email Service Provider (ESP) called iContact to send out our newsletters and other big mailouts. Something went badly wrong with their service not so long back - they sent all the Radar subscribers somebody else's newsletter, which is a pretty awful mistake to make. We were going to change ESPs, but they did excellent damage recovery, the CEO got involved, they've changed their way of doing things and overall, they are inexpensive, very responsive and easy to use. So if you need a very good ESP, here's a referral link
ThinkHost - Radar's ISP
They're 100% wind and solar powered, which is pretty cool. They do well on the inexpensive/responsive front too. Its not the simplest user interface in the world, but it's easy enough for me (Caroline) to work out. Here's a referral banner
The Co-operative Bank
are the UK's only bank with an ethical investment policy. They also seem to be very good at being a Good business in all other respects.

Hey Caroline!
I just opened the 'Inside Track' page, and read about the design team of our brand new radar website.
I want to salute their amazing job. It's a great leap forward for radar!
I love the new logo. It has a really nice edge; something ... 'industrial' somehow...
It works really well. Also, the sub-banner - 'connecting filmmakers with music video opportunities' - is very effectively worded.
However, the use of 'flashing' banners - like the ThinkHost referral banner - could be reconsidered. I have nothing against referral banners in general, I just find 'flashing ones' obnoxious. Tasteful and creative publicity can be a bonus, as long as it doesn't deter from the enjoyment of a website page. When it's animated, it becomes destracting; it takes the polish off...
Other members who read this comment might wonder what 'bonus' publicity might have to offer. For one, it could bring enough money to cover the Radar website expenses; the ₤10 per annum subscription price could eventually be waved, or at least kept at this level, if this option was ever considered... One of the friends I sent a referral to, already emailed me to say that he was declining the invitation because of the fees; pity...
Incidently, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the complementary membership link. I'm grateful for this kind gesture. Being involved with Radar keeps on getting better!
Finally, navigating through the web never came naturally to me - I was born in the jurassic pre-computer era - and being able to watch, under one roof, all the members videos, SO EASILY, is great! It's very inspiring.
All the best to you and the radar team.
