The Pirate Party of Germany was founded in 2006, simultaneously to many Pirate Partys in other countrys. We fight for free arts and Civil Rights. Now we started a open Video Contest, in witch everybody can take part. The Visitors of piratenspot.de will rate the spots and the best spot will be the new advertisement of the Pirate Party. The advertisement will be shown in the German TV as a spot for the parliamentary elections in Germany this year. It is even possible to take part, if you don't speak German find out more on: http://piratenspot.de/piratenspot-international/
thanks to people who submitted, but none of the treatments hooked the band this time. bad luck.
Wax stag a.k.a Rob Lee makes shimmering leftfield indie electronic pop full of psychedelic sounding instrumentals and synthesised melodies. For the video to his single ‘And How’, he wanted a combination of creativity, humour, psychedelia and art. Not an easy task perhaps but director Clem Stamation stepped up to and surpassed the challenge having made a stunning visual treat of a video.

There are hold ups due to internal label issues apparently. They don't expect to be able to move ahead for a month or so, don't expect a decision before mid-late July.

The second Viral Music Videos Interview was with Graham Linehan. He’s one of the writers of Father Ted, Big Train, the Fast Show – loads of pedigree TV comedy. He’s also got a great blog that turns up interesting videos all the time. As usual with the Viral Music Videos theme, we went through 3 music videos that got recommended to him and that he’s recommending in turn.
this is me, Caroline @radarmusicvideo
and this is Graham Linehan @glinner
One of Radar’s most recent successes is the video for Emmy award winning singer and songwriter Faith Rivera’s single “This little light of mine.” Directed by Ann Xiao, the video is an animated feature with a colourful uplifting style that fits perfectly with the inspirational flavour of the song. Such was the strength of the video that it was made staff pick of the week on Vimeo as well as being featured on MTV Iggy.
But Ann’s animation didn’t begin life as a music video. When Faith originally approached Radar, she was looking for visuals to accompany her live show. She came across published comic artist, illustrator and director Ann Xiao who created the vibrant visuals to match Faith’s soulful performance.
